Prayer Updates, April 2008

We have not had much in our requests to add or change since posted so many months ago. On the last requests I shared how I wanted to update as soon as God answered so you could know the fruit of your prayers. Please know this is my heart and I have not ignored this; some requests take much time and or just time. I will begin with praises for that is what is on my heart!

Praises:

  • About Gabriel’s anger: Gabriel’s smile is beginning to return along with his joy. He still acts out in anger easily, but we are training him gently and constantly to express his feelings in gentle words rather than lashing out. The fruit is beginning to bear, little, but we have seen some!!! He still daily cries for Talitha. When he is emotional at all, whether brought by correction or anger or just something internal that he is pondering, he will come to me in tears repeating, “I miss Talitha!” The other night Josiah started crying for no known reason directly in front of me. As I was comforting him, Gabriel stated, “Maybe Jolili miss Tita Mommy.” I really thought about this some time, for it shows me my precious boy’s heart - we cry when we miss her. I did not see the need to explain to him that he never knew her. I just answered, “Maybe darling,” to affirm his sweet love for Talitha and his baby brother Josiah. His tender heart is shining through again as he loves on his family members constantly with KISSES, HUGS, and I LOVE YOUS!
  • Cheer has reentered our home. The children are starting to laugh together again as well as David and I. We know the children still have much pain in the loss of Talitha, yet we sense God’s healing at work in us all.
  • God is igniting our purpose again in the midst of the pain. David and I love our role at World Orphans, which we are passionate about in each of the numerous steps. God is opening our mind to the many workings of a child’s heart as well as the how to’s in reaching them. God is opening doors of key partnerships up that will deepen our ministry to children at World Orphans.

Prayer Requests:

  • Our mouths are amazing parts of our body. The last many weeks I have noticed how negative our mouths have become. So for two weeks each day we have been studying what the Lord says about words all though the Bible. It has challenged each one of us to holy words. We will finish our study in Ephesians 5. I continue to share that our mouths are to edify the people around us and glorify our God. But whichever we choose to do we will fulfill the other.

"Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those that listen."  - Ephesians 4:29

  • Please help us pray for wholesome talk thoroughly throughout our family members!Along with our desire to speak lovingly, we are each as individuals yearning to be closer to our Lord. We desire to walk in His presence. We are thankful for God placing this desire in us and protecting our hearts.
  • Please pray for us as we continue to develop the spiritual, physical, emotional, and mental components of a child’s heart.
  • Please pray for Hannah and Anais’ studies as they finish this school year, which will catch them up for the year they had off. We pray they finish well, retaining their studies and growing in their confidence in their abilities through their trust in Christ and how He created them for His purposes.
